Angel Saint Martin’s CORAL REEF CONFLUENCE collection combines sewing, painting, sculpting, and printmaking to create wearable art and apparel that integrates surface design, structure, the body, and the environment. She shapes fabric into three-dimensional forms and layers custom textile prints with textile techniques to produce distinctive garments. Drawing inspiration from ocean conservation and the Anthropocene, her work features zoomorphic motifs that allow the wearer to embody narratives of nature preservation.
The carnival of threads erupts with a gaze,
red rivers of fabric ablaze.
Patterns and paint mirror the flames,
stitches of glory are made to blame.
Besides the frame, cloth constellations,
a living canvas, pulsate garment conversation.
Body and wearer move in rhythm,
warm colors igniting a prism.
A sculpture manifests with motivation,
a coat of conscious creation.
A helmet of protection, born of plants,
draped with myth and memory chants.
Textiles echo with ancestral sound,
threads of fire, myth, and flame profound.
The choreography of cloth unframes
in a chorus of multicultural names.
